My Passion for Creating Natural Candles

Hi there, Delights! I’m Nicole, the hands and heart behind Deming Delights. My journey with candles began in the quiet moments at home—watching the soft flicker of a flame, breathing in the gentle aroma, and feeling a sense of calm that only a candle can bring. Those moments sparked a love for creating little pockets of warmth and joy that could transform any space.

But as much as I adored candles, I grew frustrated with what was available in stores. Many were expensive, and I worried about what I was burning around my family and pets. I wanted something safer, cleaner, and made with intention. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

Starting Deming Delights was both exciting and humbling. It began as a personal passion project, late nights experimenting with scents and pouring soy wax by hand in my little kitchen. Every batch I made carried a piece of me—my love for fragrance, my desire to create a safe home, and my belief in the joy of handmade things.

Today, Deming Delights is still a one-woman labor of love, growing slowly but surely with the support of my local community and wonderful customers like you. Every candle I pour reflects my commitment to quality, wellness, and pure delight. I choose the finest ingredients, handcraft each candle with care, and hope that when you light one, it brings a little piece of that same joy into your home.

Why Soy Matters

Learn what makes each Deming Delight
candle clean, safe, and long-lasting.

All of my candles are made entirely from natural soy wax—never mixed with paraffin or any other wax. Derived from soybeans, soy wax is 100% plant-based and sustainable, making it a cleaner, greener choice for your home.

Here’s why soy is so wonderful:

Longer Burn Time: Soy wax has a lower melting temperature than other waxes, so it burns 35–50% longer than paraffin candles.
Better Fragrance Release: Soy holds fragrance and essential oils gently, creating a soft, consistent scent as your candle burns.
Clean & Safe: With no harmful additives, soy wax is better for your family, pets, and the environment.

The First Burn

To get the most from your candle:

Set the memory: Allow the melted wax to reach the edge of the jar on your first burn. This ensures it burns evenly in future uses.
Timing: Burn for one hour per inch of your candle’s diameter.
Wick care: Keep your cotton wick trimmed to ¼” and centered. Wicks naturally curl after burning—this is normal and keeps your candle burning safely and beautifully.

Frosting & Soy Wax

You may notice a white coating on your candle called “frosting”. This is a natural effect of soy wax (also known as polymorphism). It occurs as the wax re-crystallizes and is a sign of 100% natural soy wax.

Frosting can appear on colored or plain candles, typically after the third burn and sometimes throughout the life of your candle.
It doesn’t affect the burn or scent—just a little reminder that your candle is pure, natural, and lovingly made.
